Biography: 

Ms. Schwartz has devoted her career and her work as a volunteer to protecting the interests of consumers.  As a law professor for twenty-five years, she taught and wrote about consumer product safety, focusing on federal regulatory issues and product liability law.  In 1995, she began a five-year appointment as Deputy Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection where she led efforts to address the newly emerging electronic, global marketplace.  She has served on the boards of CFI and Consumer Reports and on the editorial boards of the Food and Drug Law Journal and the Administrative Law Review.
