Dr. Sisay works at the University of Gondar where he has assumed numerous responsibilities in different capacities over the past 15 years. Some of his duties and accomplishments include teaching and supervising of postgraduate and research students, developing different teaching materials, and publishing more than fifty research articles in peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Sisay completed his medical degree at Addis Ababa University (AAU) Gondar Medical College 1994 and completed his specialty certificate in pediatrics at AAU in 2003.
He serves as a Vice President and researcher at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Gondar (UoG) as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Child Health at UoG. Additionally, he is a team member and Co-PI for Randomized Clinical Trials for Combination Oral therapy of Visceral Leishmaniasis, and previously a site PI for Safe and Effective Short-Term Treatment of Visceral Leishmaniasis at UoG. Currenlty, he serves as a team member of LEAP (Leishmamniasis East African Platform) as well. Dr. Sisay is part of the Disease Burden team for the TARTARE project.
