Sheri Maria Morgan is a program manager in the Department of Food Science and Technology at The Ohio State University. Her primary role is the management of TARTARE, a food safety capacity building project in Ethiopia, under Dr. Barbara Kowalcyk. She came to Ohio State after serving as a state epidemiologist at the Ohio Department of Health in STD surveillance. Prior to entering the workforce, Sheri completed her MPH at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and focused her studies on global health and infectious diseases. Her master thesis focused on trachoma, an infectious eye disease, in the Kongwa district of Tanzania. Her thesis was later published with authors from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Johns Hopkins University. Her public health interests include disease eradication, epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation of public health interventions, and medical anthropology in low and middle income countries.
