Biography: 

Dr. Mark H. Weir is an Environmental Engineer who specializes in quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) modeling to support public health intervention decision making and engineering design. He earned his BS and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Wilkes University and Drexel University respectively. He worked as an Environmental Engineer I for the Office of Water at US EPA headquarters providing applied research support and regulation language development. His research at Temple University as Assistant Professor and Interim Chair of the Environmental Health Science Division focused on water and health, and impacts on food quality and risks. Since joining OSU Dr. Weir has developed his research along water and health in building water systems, food safety, and healthcare associated infections. He is the faculty advisor for the Veterans Advocacy program in the College of Public Health, and serves on the education committee for the Society of Risk Analysis. Dr. Weir will be serving on the TARTARE Economics/Risk Assessment Team.
