Biography: 

Dr. Binkley specializes in the ecology of zoonotic disease. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology at the Ohio Wesleyan University before attending The Ohio State University to receive an MPH in both veterinary and environmental public health as well an MS through the School of Environment and Natural Resources specializing in wildlife ecology. Her doctoral work through The Ohio State University Comparative and Veterinary Medicine program focused on identifying rabies transmission pathways in wild and domestic animal populations as well as discovering zoonotic pathogens carried by wildlife species in Ethiopia. Her graduate studies have allowed her to both apply, and work with professionals in, the fields of environmental health, wildlife ecology, disease modeling, and molecular epidemiology. She has also had the opportunity to work with a variety of national and international organizations. Her work with TARTARE allows her to pursue her passion to apply her interdisciplinary background to approach global health issues from a One Health perspective.
