Gabrielle Tharp is a Master of Public Health graduate student specializing in Epidemiology at The Ohio State University, expected to graduate in May of 2022. Prior to beginning her graduate career, Gabrielle worked for the Occupational Hygiene and Safety Fellow at the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation. There, she assisted higher-level staff in the performance of duties associated with occupational safety and hygiene, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, research activities, and accident prevention training. In 2018, she earned a dual undergraduate B.S. Degree in Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Health from Ohio University. Even with this workload, Gabrielle managed to train students of different grades in lab procedures and proper performance as a Microbiology Lab Teaching Assistant.
As a Graduate Intern for CFI, Gabrielle works closely with Dr. Kara Morgan with assistance in a project aimed at estimating pregnant women's weekly consumption of fish and other seafood. She also helps with literature reviews and extracting and arranging National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data into SAS for statistical analysis. Outside of school, Gabrielle enjoys playing volleyball with friends.
