Dr. Desalegne currently serves as the Associate Regional Director for The Ohio State University Global One Health Initiative Eastern Africa Regional Office. He previously served as the president of the University of Gondar from December 2015-March 2019, and is an alum of the Ohio State through the Fulbright Program. During his time at the University of Gondar, the university was ranked as the top university among first generation universities for two straight years and also achieving the quality award for a third consecutive year. Dr. Desalegne earned his DVM from Addis Ababa University, Debre Zeit where he also went on to earn an MSc. in Tropical Veterniary Medicine. He then recieved a Diploma from the Higher Diploma Program at the University of Gondar. Dr. Desalegne will serve on the TARTARE steering committee.
