Dr. Aredo Mengistu Ketema is currently an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at Haramaya University. His research interests include Production Economics and Agricultural Systems Analysis, Environmental and Resource Economics, Impact Assessment Studies in Agriculture, Value Chain Analysis, Marketing and Price Analysis, and Economics of Climate Change. He has authored/co-authored more than 50 journal articles, more than 15 proceeding papers, and edited more than 15 workshop proceedings. As a professor he has supervised 15 PhD students and 55 MSc students to completion. During his Ph.D studies, Dr. Aredo received a scholarship to take part in the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst German Academic Exchange (DAAD) Program and received his Ph.D degree in Agricultural Economics from Justus-Liebig University of Giessen, Germany. He received his M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University. In 2004 Dr. Aredo won the Development Cooperation Prize in Belgium. He will be working as part of the TARTARE Economics/Risk Assessment Team.
