Laura Onianwa Joins CFI Team as Program Coordinator of Operations, Partnerships, and Learning

Laura OnianwaThe Center for Foodborne Illness Research and Prevention (CFI) at The Ohio State University is pleased to announce that Laura Onianwa has joined our team as the Program Coordinator of Operations, Partnerships, and Learning.

In this role, Laura oversees the translational research communications for CFI and serves as the direct interface between OSU Extension and CFI faculty and staff who work in the areas of food safety, food preservation and foodborne illness. She is the key person overseeing the transition of Handwashing For Life to CFI’s stewardship. 

During the summer of 2021, Laura assisted the nonprofit organization, Listen Good Youth, with collecting and organizing statistics on crimes within Columbus, Ohio. All while simultaneously supporting CFI as an Undergraduate Health Communications Intern for her BSPH Capstone Experience, with a focus on health promotion and communication across CFI's Food Safety website and social media platforms. Laura is passionate about Public Health, specifically Health Promotion and the Sociology of Behavior Motivation & Change. For over a year following her student practicum experience with CFI, she continued as a volunteer. As a previous CFI Intern, we are excited to have Laura join our CFI Management Team full time in October of this year.
