Tomorrow’s guest speaker for our FDSCTE 7727 Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Food Safety; Current Topics in Food Safety course is none other than, Juan Leon!
Dr. Leon is an accomplished food safety veterinarian, clinician and food scientist with 23 years of experience at all levels of the food protection, food safety and defense spectrum. He has extensive experience, ranging from hands-on food plant auditor to attaining the top food protection job in the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Leon has a wealth of experience in federal guidelines and industry standards such as FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, IBWA standards, ISO 9001 and 22000 standards, and laboratory standards to ensure the safety of the food supply and minimize adverse food illness outcomes.
Dr. Leon received his M.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Colorado State University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University.
